We had an excellent turnout for the AGM with just over 60 members joining us to celebrate our many achievements during 2025. Sarah, our Chair and David our Treasurer provided comprehensive overviews of the Trust’s activities during the past year. Highlights were definitely our continuing work with Surrey schools through our Schools Awards programme, support of disadvantaged adults through our Gateways programme and small grants to community based projects. In addition our Research & Recorders group continues their important work on researching gardens, parks and designed landscapes that might be eligible for local listing, particularly in Waverley. Following our AGM, members enjoyed a highly informative and engaging talk by garden historian and author Tim Richardson. Tim’s insightful talk focused on several notable gardens and landscapes from his recent book ‘The English Landscape Garden: Dreaming of Arcadia’ and highlighted the political, social and economic choices and/or preferences of the owners of these historic properties. We would like to thank Tim for sharing his extensive knowledge with us. A truly fitting end to 2025.
We would like to wish all our members and supporters a Happy Christmas and joyous New Year.
