SURREY GARDENS TRUST SCHOOLS AWARDS 2026
Surrey Gardens Trust is pleased to announce the launch of its annual Schools Awards programme and would welcome applications for the 2026 academic year. Please note that the closing date for applications is Friday 27th March 2026.
One of the Surrey Gardens Trust's principal aims is to encourage the development and use of school grounds as a learning environment. Grants totalling £65,603 have been awarded to schools since 1997. The Trust is very keen to support schools and appreciate the work you do in your school grounds.
As a small charity we may not be able to contribute the full amount required, but we are keen to contribute to part of a project if possible. Seeing a breakdown of the estimated costs helps with that decision process.
This year we have a separate special award of £1,000 in memory of our previous Chair, Lady Jill Leggatt, the founder of our school awards. Schools should indicate on their application form if they wish to be considered for this award. Proposed projects would need to be highly creative, demonstrating children’s involvement and how the area would be maintained in the future. We would need to see a detailed breakdown of the estimated costs.
