Winter Lecture Programme for 2026 Announced

Sandra Pullen will be taking over the SGT Winter Lecture Series for this coming year and has organised a brilliant programme of talks from January 2026. As in previous years, the programme will focus on garden history and design. This winter, we’re delighted to welcome three fantastic speakers:

• David Marsh, well known to many of you, will explore the history of the cottage garden.

• Edward Flint will share insights on what makes a good garden.

• Jennifer Potter will delve into the social and cultural history of the rose.

Sandra will also be introducing a few changes. Most notably, the series will be offered as hybrid events, giving members the choice to attend in person and enjoy the social atmosphere, or to watch from home. All ticket holders will also receive access to a recording link, available for two weeks after each event—perfect for catching up or revisiting the content. To receive your recording link, please ensure you consent to “post-event emails” when booking via Bookwhen.

Please do join us in person at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall or online for one or all of these three talks. Booking is essential and can be done via Bookwhen. For further information about these talks please visit our Events Calendar 2026 here. At the bottom of each listing you will find buttons that lead you directly to Bookwhen for booking your choice of ticket. For any queries contact us on bookingssgt@gmail.com.
