One of the Trust’s principal aims is to encourage development and use of school grounds as a learning environment. Every year the Trust offers small grants to successful applicants with awards ranging from £25 to £500 for projects that clearly demonstrate children and volunteer participation, long term sustainability and evidence of an ongoing maintenance plan. Projects can include raised beds, children’s equipment, hard landscaping and sheds, wildflower meadows and many more.
Last year Surrey Gardens Trust awarded over £7,000 to 33 schools, having received 44 applications. We are delighted that once again Squires Garden Centre will support our work by offering gift vouchers to assist in school projects.
