Nine Schools Awarded Grants for Wide Variety of Garden Projects

The Schools Committee awarded a total of £2,500 to nine schools after having received a record 32 applications. The Committee has been busy visiting all of the schools in order to present their cheques. Bagshot Infant School, Burpham Primary School and Lingfield Primary School received grants of £500 each towards their projects ranging from building a school apiary to creating a sensory garden. During their visits the Committee members were made to feel extremely welcome and the children were delighted to be able to show them their school grounds. Many of the projects were under way and the committee members were delighted to see their progress. In addition to the nine awards, ten further schools received £20 gift vouchers from Squires Garden Centres.
